Doctoral Candidate & Teaching Fellow Department of Economics, University of Pretoria
I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Economics and serving as a Teaching Fellow in the Department of Economics at the University of Pretoria. Over the past few years, I have actively contributed to academic discourse and supported my students’ intellectual development through both my current role and my previous position as an Assistant Lecturer in the School of IT at the same university.
I hold a Master of Commerce (MCom) in Economics (Cum Laude), through which I refined my analytical skills and built a strong foundation in economic theory. My academic journey reflects a deep commitment to advancing knowledge in economics and contributing meaningfully to scholarly research.
My research interests lie at the intersection of behavioural economics and health economics. Currently, I am exploring the strategic interactions between healthcare providers and patients through game theory. This research seeks to uncover the complex dynamics influencing patient decisions and the impact of provider effort on promoting optimal health choices.
Looking ahead, I aim to expand my research to examine how cognitive overload and indecisiveness affect patient decision-making. By investigating these behavioural patterns, I strive to develop insights that can inform effective interventions and policies to address public health challenges.
